EuroMillions – Euro Millions - European Lottery
The European lottery was originally a joint venture between the UK,
France and Spain and one of it's objectives was to generate the one of the
largest windfall jackpots in the world. The launch took place on 13th February
2004.
Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria and Ireland have also jumped
onboard since the launch with more countries expected to follow suit over the
years to come thus producing even bigger winning jackpots.
EuroMillions, Euro Millions are also names to describe the
European lottery
and it quickly gained momentum after approval from officials. With the EuroMillions draws
that take place weekly in Paris every Friday and it’s also
broadcast on the BBC later that evening.

Sales stated by Camelot will be split in the following manner – Approx 12.5% of
sales will fund the top tier prize level while approx 50% will go towards
funding other prizes (See Right) and jackpots are expected to range between 11 -
14 million pounds while (If the prize isn’t won) rollovers have rocketed up to
and over 100 million pounds.
With the EuroMillons there is a (Lucky Star) combination that involves 5 balls
drawn from 50, plus 2 balls drawn from 9 and the jackpot is claimed when 5 balls
plus the 2 lucky stars are matched, this gives a 1 in 76 million chance of
winning when compared
with the UK Lotto that has a 1 in 14 million chance. (Match 6 balls from 49 with the UK Lotto).
The advantage of the UK Lotto is the shorter odd’s but this gives people more of
an opportunity to win when compared with the
European Lottery.
